A nearly forgotten plant,this spice was a universal spice in the medieval kitchen and, next to galangal and wild thyme was considered one of the three most important spices by Hildegard. Bertram is considered a universal spice. It can be cooked with the meal or added after cooking.
Tips & Preparation:
Bertram is a neutral tasting herb which is also referred to as a universal condiment. It seasons soups, sauces, vegetables, meat and fish dishes. It can also be eaten on a piece of bread and butter.
