Hawthorn shrubs grow wild in the woods, thickets, parks and gardens. Their fruit looks like tiny red apples. They are edible and rich in vitamins. Hawthorn has been used for many years as a remedy. It can contribute to lowering blood pressure, helps with nervousness and calm. The most common use for hawthorn leaves is as tea. Just add 2 teaspoons of hawthorn leaves to a cup of boiling water and let stand for 10 minutes, then strain. Consume one to three cups daily.
