Jackfruit trees are native to southern India. Shredded jackfruit by Govinda is sourced from jackfruit trees on EU-certified organic farms in India.
Shredded jackfruit can be roasted or cooked and has a consistency that is similar to meat. The taste of shredded jackfruit is neutral and can be seasoned to taste with a variety of spices.
Recipe tip:
- Heat vegetable oil or coconut oil in a pan and sauté the shredded jackfruit over medium heat. Stir several times. Season to taste with spices, salt and pepper.
Note: The unopened package can be stored at room temperature. Refrigerate after opening and use it up within a few days
