Description
Gulkand is often referred to as a rose petal jam, but since it is made with Sharkara sugar and rose petals. It's simply not comparable to jam!
Special production
- The rose petals are sourced from the Gujarat jungle. There, the fresh petals are layered with sharkara sugar, placed in tall clay jugs and then exposed to the sun for about 2 months. With the help of the sun's heat, the contents of these jars form a delicious, aromatic sweetness. Since Gulkand is not cooked, the plant fibres of the rose petals and the intense aroma are preserved.
Ayurveda properties
- Pitta Rasayana.
- Balances a slightly increased Pitta.
Recommended Use:
- Gulkand can be eaten as a spread, mixed in milk, enjoyed with lassi or simply enjoyed as is.
